Mushroom Kingdom II - The Mushroom Kingdom II is virtually the same one as from melee, with different graphics.This stage is unlocked by collecting 20 cards and then viewing your card collection by going to Options, then Records and then pressing the C button. This stage is large and flat with no stage hazards at all. In the background, images from other NES games fly through the air. NES Console - The NES Console is a stage in which the characters fight upon an NES.
It is unlocked by getting Balloon Fighter. If one was to fall in the water the giant fish would come out and drag you in. A cloud hovers above the stage which may occasionally shoot out a bolt of lightning across the stage damaging the player if he or she touches it. Balloon Zone - Balloon Zone is a small stage with a central platform above the water based on the Balloon Fight game.When touched, the spikes damage you and the gears move you at a certain direction when atop them, similar to the moving platforms on Pokémon Stadium 2. Metalman's Stage - A stage with spikes, platforms, and gears.It is best to stay up on the top platform to keep yourself away from the acid. In this stage the one main hazard is the constant, raising acid. Brinstar - Brinstar is a stage based on the Metroid series.At some points water rises altering the physics of the characters underwater.

Orange Ocean - Orange Ocean is a stage based off the Kirby series. There are many platforms on this level and there is a hidden passageway in which characters can use to attack and be unnoticeable to the opponent. Hyrule Castle - Hyrule Castle is a large, towering stage based on the Zelda series. There are many springs located on the stage which one can use to jump higher than usual and occasionally, one may see a Piranha Plant appear out of the pipes. Mushroom Kingdom - This stage is based on the Mario series. Rash - Battletoads - Defeat 1000 enemies. Ryu - Ninja Gaiden - Beat Adventure Mode in under 9 minutes. Balloon Fighter - Balloon Fight - Go through all warp points. By crouching and pressing the "X" key, one can shield.Įach character has a different play style, jump height, and speed. The "X" key executes a weak, but quick attack that can be used in rapid succession when playing with two people the right mouse button is used for a second player. Over-Z attacks depends on the character and it differs for each character. Charged attacks can deal more damage, but it leaves the player idle and thus vulnerable to other attacks. The "Z" key is used, for most characters, as an attack that can be charged up when playing with two people the left mouse button is used for a second player. In keeping with the fact that it was made to be an NES game, there are only two attack buttons and movement is used arrow keys (or J,K,L,I for a second player). The higher the percentage, the easier it is to knock enemies off the stage. Unlike other fighting games, damage is measured by percentage and fighting focuses more on hitting enemies off the stage. 
NES's gameplay is very similar to that of the official Super Smash Bros.
